Scope of practice
The unique nature of New Life Portugal presents both challenges and opportunities we must mindfully navigate as a community. To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all, we have outlined the below guidelines that we expect all staff and guests to abide by.
- Smoking is only allowed in designated smoking areas.
- Please inform staff about damages in rooms or in communal areas.
- Have good sustainable practices. Use recycling services and turn off water and lights if not in use.
- Please keep medications safe and take them as directed by your medical practitioner.
- We are a sober retreat and it is not permitted to consume alcohol or any other substances nor to be intoxicated from any substance on the facilities.
- Honor that some of our guests are in early recovery. Please be mindful of your conversations with others who may be struggling.
- If you choose to listen to music onsite, please use headphones.
- Please respect periods of ‘Noble Silence’.
- Use computers, phones, tablets, or other devices mindfully.
- We are a healing community, and all take responsibility for each other.
